Capital Professionals is pleased to be assisting our global provider of transportation and logistics services, and one of the fastest growing companies of our kind in North America in their search for a Carrier Sales Rep / Dispatcher for their Dallas, TX office. This position has the responsibility for moving customer freight solutions and booking the loads. It involves a high volume of customer interaction, including prospecting, cold-calling, qualifying, closing deals and account management. The company offers a competitive salary, excellent commission and bonus plans.

The primary focus of this position is to understand and support the team concept adopted by the Company and strive to ensure the Team attains established goals. The incumbent will assign motor vehicles and drivers for conveyance of freight by performing the following duties.

Responsibilities
  • Ensures highest customer satisfaction possible.
  • Ensures efficient operation of truck fleet.
  • Maintains current list of available drivers.
  • Cooperates with Maintenance Department to limit down time of trucks.
  • Cooperates with Sales / Marketing Department to enhance customer service.
  • Compiles list of available vehicles.
  • Assigns vehicles according to factors such as length and purpose of trip, freight or drivers* available hours.
  • Records trip number, origin, destination, cargo, expected time of delivery and drivers* hours of service available.
  • Investigates overdue vehicles. Directs activities of drivers by sending instructions via Qual Com satellite system.
  • Confers with customers to expedite delayed products.
  • Understands 'Hours of Service* regulations and ensures all drivers obey these regulations.
  • Understands company policies pertaining to accident investigations and driver responsibilities at accident site.
  • Understands regulations and company policies pertaining to post trip/pre trip inspections and does not allow vehicles needing repairs to operate on the roadways.
  • Ensures compliance with Company policies and government regulations
  • Performs road checks of drivers to determine job performance
  • Visits Customers sites as Company safety representative
  • Serves as member of product inventory management team
  • Fully capable and trained to perform the duties of other Team members.
  • Ability to take after hours / weekend call duty on occasion
